Learning /תלמוד תורה at CBS
The Talmud records a debate about whether “study” or “action” is more important. The conclusion - “study is greater because it leads to action.” (Talmud Kiddushin 40b) As a modern orthodox community, we are well-positioned to translate the enormous breadth and profound depths of our tradition in relevant terms. Importantly, we place the Torah’s wisdom in the dialogue with knowledge and wisdom broadly. We’re followers of Maimonides who said to “accept truth from whoever says it” and viewed the pursuit of knowledge as universal.
Rabbi Dolinger regularly offers classes in halakha/Jewish Law, Talmud, Zohar, Mussar, Prayer, Jewish Thought, Chassidut, Meditation & Mysticism, and a host of other subjects.
We are the privileged recipients of a Devora Scholars Grant from JOFA to promote orthodox female Torah leadership. In this role, Rabbanit Avital Engelberg regularly offers classes in Talmud, Chassidut & Rebbe Nachman in particular, Zionism & the State of Israel, Jewish Thought, and serves as an incredible educational resource for our community.
Sarah Cheses - Yoetzet Halacha.
